  • Overview

    Die / Tool Development Engineer


    This position will lead innovative projects for Engineering by performing all phases of projects including: die and equipment development, recording of data and testing and debugging; consistent with established performance standards and specifications.


    Die and tool development includes hand grinding, filing, and honing of tooling surfaces and openings. Provides support to Project and Extrusion Engineers in the development of sample parts and participates in the evaluation of materials and processes to ensure performance to required standards. Recommends changes in sample design while maintaining quality standards.

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline / coursework in plastics technology
    • Hands-on experience with profile extrusion highly preferred.
    • 1 - 3 years of profile extrusion tooling development experience highly preferred.
    • Experience in machine operation, process equipment, lathes, grinders, etc. desired.
    • Polymer Science knowledge is a plus.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
