    Installation / Field Service Specialist



    POSITION REPORTS TO: Installation Supervisor



    POSITION PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Installation Supervisor, performs the technical, logistical, and administrative duties required to install equipment into customer sites and perform emergency repair services as required.



    • Troubleshoots and repairs NKA products and network issues as needed

    • Installs equipment into purchasing medical facility

    • Follows installation plans provided by corporate, communicates and issues or variances as required

    • Ensures all equipment is working properly, installation is neat and orderly, and customer is satisfied

    • Ensures all finished products work accurately

    • Completes all calibration, testing, and documentation required

    • Ensures customer is trained and aware of locations and components

    • Troubleshoots installation issues as required

    • May be required to work with technical support teams to correct technical issues at customer locations

    • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

    • Other duties as assigned




    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:  Associate degree in electronics or equivalent from technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience



    • Basic cabling and construction principles

    • Basic familiarity with networks

    • Basic Troubleshooting of IT and Patient Monitoring Equipment


    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 years field service or installation experience, preferably in hospital environment



    • Strong organization and time management skills

    • Ability to work alone, staying on task and working efficiently

    • Detail oriented and deadline focused

    • Willingness to work occasional weekends



    TRAVEL: Ability to travel 90% of the time

    SPEAKING: Able to speak and present information in front of groups

    PHYSICAL: Ability to climb ladders, work in close quarters, have arms over head for long periods of time, and carry 30 pounds


    As a requirement for this position, you may be required to go onsite to a medical facility.  At that time, you must complete the vendor credentialing process at the expense of Nihon Kohden which requires lab tests providing proof of immunity to common childhood illness (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B and Varicella) as well as have a current TB certificate and Flu shot. All field-based employees are expected to complete this lab work prior to visiting a medical facility.


    Required Hours: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager.  Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.
